Comprehensive Adult ADHD Assessment
at Evolving Minds Counselling

We provide comprehensive assessment and intervention services for adult ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder). Our team of highly qualified clinicians is dedicated to supporting adults in managing symptoms of ADHD.

In Australia, it's estimated around 2-4% of adults live with ADHD, although this number may be higher due to underdiagnosis and misdiagnosis.

Adult ADHD often presents differently than in children. While children's symptoms can be more noticeable, adults may develop coping strategies or overcompensate, giving the impression of being organised and in control. Internally, they may feel like their mind is constantly racing, as if "1000 browser tabs are open" at once. This mental overload of adult ADHD is often masked by their outward appearance of being highly functional.

The impact of Adult ADHD can extend across many aspects of daily living, making it harder to balance responsibilities and maintain healthy relationships. The good news is, with the right support and treatment, you can learn strategies to manage the challenges of adult ADHD more effectively.

Early detection and diagnosis of Adult ADHD are crucial to enhancing the quality of life for those affected. With appropriate support, including therapy, medication, and lifestyle strategies, individuals can manage their symptoms more effectively and reduce daily challenges, improving overall well-being. Early intervention helps build stronger coping mechanisms, improve relationships, and find greater success in both their personal and professional lives.

If you think you might have ADHD, there are excellent resources available at the ADHD Foundation.

 The Assessment Process

01

Intake Session

Your clinician will work with you to explore your concerns, strengths, abilities, challenges, and developmental history. This comprehensive approach helps you understand how these factors may be affecting your daily life.

03

In Depth Analysis

Your clinician will carefully review all the information gathered during your intake and assessment sessions.

Based on this, they will prepare an easy-to-understand written report, which will include recommendations for effectively managing your condition.

02

Psychometric Assessment

You will be given a series of validated psychometric tests specifically designed to assess ADHD. These tests can be completed at your own pace, from the comfort of your home. The results provide a clearer insight into your unique situation.

04

Feedback and Report

We will schedule a feedback session about 3-4 weeks after your assessment is completed.

In this session, you will receive your written report along with a detailed explanation of the findings and recommendations for the next steps.
