Support for Anxiety Disorders
at Evolving Minds Counselling
Anxiety is one of the most common mental health concerns, affecting people across all ages and stages of life. At Evolving Minds Counselling, we offer professional, evidence based support for a range of anxiety disorders, including Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), Social Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Phobias, and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD).

Anxiety is a natural response to stress or perceived danger. When anxiety is persistent, overwhelming, or out of proportion to the situation, it can interfere with daily life. It may show up as excessive worry, restlessness, physical tension, avoidance, or difficulties with concentration, sleep, and relationships.

While anxiety is a natural part of the body’s fear response system, it becomes problematic when it is persistent, overwhelming, or triggered without a clear reason. It can interfere with daily routines, relationships, school, or work, and may cause both physical and emotional distress. People experiencing anxiety might feel on edge, struggle to sleep, avoid certain situations, or rely on maladaptive coping behaviours such as overeating, smoking, or alcohol.

At Evolving Minds, we understand anxiety looks different for everyone. Our experienced clinicians work with children, adolescents, adults and seniors, tailoring treatment to each individual. We use a range of evidence based therapies to explore and address the patterns that contribute to and maintain anxiety.
