Courtney Newdick
Empathetic, Compassionate and Supportive
Evolving Minds Counselling, Menai is proud to present Courtney who is a genuine and compassionate registered psychologist. Courtney strives to create a non-judgemental and safe space for clients to explore their mental health and arrive at those ‘lightbulb’ moments. She aims to support you in developing practical coping tools to help manage painful or difficult emotions, thoughts, and/or behaviours.
One of Courtney’s greatest joys is when clients feel understood. She values the development of a strong therapeutic alliance, as she feels this is of the utmost importance to treatment outcomes.
Courtney is particularly interested and experienced in working with anxiety, trauma, ADHD/ADD and ASD. She also has experience working with emotional distress, depression, anger, interpersonal difficulties, self-esteem, grief and loss, adjustment to change, and pain management. Courtney is LGBTQIA+ friendly.
Courtney usually takes from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and (trauma-informed) Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) to tailor intervention that suits the individual needs of the person. Courtney does not like a stock standard approach to mental health.
Courtney has experience working within the scope of WorkCover (SIRA), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and Medicare.
