Evolving Minds Counselling is registered as a Medicare provider. To access the Medicare rebate, a mental health care plan or referral from your GP, Psychiatrist, or Paediatrician is required. These plans allow you to claim a rebate for part of the session cost from Medicare. If more sessions are required, we will provide you with a progress report to give to your Health Care Professional, and they can provide re-referral to access rebates for further sessions. Ten rebates are now available per calendar year with eligible referrals. Evolving Minds offer the convenience of processing your rebate onsite so Medicare can directly deposit the money into your bank account. Alternatively, we can print or email your invoice so you can process the claim through Medicare yourself. If your family has met the Medicare Safety Net Threshold, Medicare will automatically provide a higher rebate. Some private health insurance policies allow for rebates if you have allied health cover. Please contact them directly about your eligibility for a rebate. Please note Medicare and private health funds will not allow you to claim from both sources at the same time. Our fees vary depending on the service you require, and most are eligible for rebate through either Medicare or your Private Health Fund. Some services such as NDIS and Workcover are covered by a third party and therefore do not cost you anything. We also offer sessions under Bupa for Veterans.

Evolving Minds is not a bulk billing practice however, we do have low income options for those who hold a healthcare card. At Evolving Minds Counselling, we maintain a cancellation policy. While we understand life changes, we also hope you understand time is put aside with a clinician when you make an appointment. Of course, we will always do our best to fill the space from our waitlist before charging a fee. If a session is cancelled between 1 - 2 business day of the scheduled time or if the client fails to attend without notice, the full fee of the pre-scheduled service will be charged. If a session is cancelled within 2 business days notice of scheduled appointment, 50% of the appointment fee will apply. Our cancellation policy is strictly enforced and applies to all reasons for session cancellation, including instances of ill health, unless accompanied by a doctor's certificate.

Evolving Minds accept Eftpos, Credit Cards and Cash.

This depends on the presenting issue. Some people require only a few sessions, while others require more comprehensive counselling. Our focus is always on ensuring you receive the most effective treatment for you and that is why all sessions are tailored to everyone's unique presentation.

Each individual session is 50 minutes. Couple and Family Sessions are 1.5 hours in duration.

Information gathered as part of the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a client's mental health condition, will remain confidential. It is however, important to know there are exceptions in which all clinicians are mandated (by law) to break confidentiality. This is necessary when: ​ a person is at risk of harming themselves or others client records are subpoenaed by a court of law. a child is at risk of harm The team at Evolving Minds take confidentiality seriously and do their utmost to ensure you feel safe and cared for.
