Frequently Asked Questions
Medicare Rebates

Evolving Minds Counselling is registered as a Medicare provider, making therapy more affordable for eligible clients. To access the Medicare rebate, you will need a mental health care plan or a referral from your GP, Psychiatrist, or Paediatrician. These plans allow you to claim a rebate for part of the session cost through Medicare.

What You Need to Know

-
With an eligible referral, you can claim rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
-
If more sessions are needed, we will provide a progress report to your Health Care Professional, who can issue a re-referral to continue accessing rebates.
-
We can process your Medicare rebate onsite, with the funds deposited directly into your bank account. You must be registered with Services Australia. Alternatively, we can issue an invoice for you to claim the rebate yourself.
-
If your family has met the Medicare Safety Net Threshold, you may be eligible for higher rebates, which are automatically applied by Medicare.
Private Health

Some private health funds offer rebates for allied health services. Please check with your insurer and let us know the item number, as it can vary between funds.
Please note Medicare and private health funds will not allow you to claim from both sources at the same time.

What are Our Fees?

Our fees vary depending on the service you require, and most are eligible for rebate through either Medicare or your Private Health Fund.
Some services such as NDIS and Workcover are covered by a third party and therefore do not cost you anything. We also offer sessions under Bupa Open Arms.
