Catherine Roberts is a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse at Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology in Menai. With over 28 years of clinical experience across the UK and Australia, Catherine provides couples counselling, family therapy and individual support for children, adolescents and adults across the Sutherland Shire.
Catherine brings a calm, compassionate presence to her work, creating a warm and respectful space where individuals, couples and families can strengthen relationships, improve communication and develop practical strategies. Her therapeutic style is relational and person-centred.
Life transitions, parenting demands and everyday stress can place pressure on relationships. Catherine supports couples and families to better understand patterns in communication, navigate conflict and strengthen connection. Her work is informed by family systems theory and the Gottman Method, guiding practical and sustainable change.
Catherine has extensive experience working with adolescents and young people, including four years at a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in the UK and more recent work with a national youth mental health service in Australia. This work has included individual therapy, family-based support and group programs for young people experiencing significant mental health challenges.
She has a particular focus on perinatal mental health, supporting parents and couples during pregnancy and the postnatal period. Her work in this area includes emotional adjustment, anxiety and mood changes, birth trauma, identity shifts, and the relationship challenges that can arise during the transition to parenthood.
Catherine also works with families navigating neurodivergent presentations, including ADHD and autism, helping parents and children develop shared understanding, communication strategies and approaches that support everyone in the family. She welcomes self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.
