Adolescent Counselling
at Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology
Adolescence is a time of significant emotional, social, and psychological change. For many young people, it can also bring challenges such as anxiety, low mood, school stress, or difficulty coping. As a parent or carer, it can be hard to know how to help, or where to start.
At Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology, we offer specialised adolescent counselling in the Sutherland Shire and online. Our clinicians are trained in adolescent development and bring decades of experience. We create a safe, respectful space where young people feel heard, understood, and supported.
Therapy is tailored to each individual and may focus on:
-
Managing emotions
-
Reducing anxiety or depression
-
Building resilience and self-esteem
-
Improving relationships and communication
-
Developing healthy coping strategies
We also offer structured, evidence-based support for school refusal, social anxiety, perfectionism, self-harm, and challenges related to ADHD, OCD and eating disorders.
We use a wide range of evidence-based therapies tailored to the individual needs of each adolescent. This may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT),Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT), and other developmentally appropriate modalities. Our clinicians integrate multiple approaches based on clinical expertise, current research, and what will be most effective for each young person.
