Charmaine is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker with over 20 years’ experience in North America, Ireland and Australia working with adolescents, families and the elderly.

 

Charmaine has extensive experience providing counselling within schools, family support services and aged care facilities. Adolescence and aging are normal parts of life, and Charmaine is passionate about supporting individuals along life’s challenges, celebrating achievements and helping clients achieve their goals.

 

Using a warm, non-judgemental, and relaxed approach, Charmaine works alongside families and individuals to identify priority areas of focus to improve health and well-being and foster a sense of self-acceptance and self-compassion.

Charmaine believes in building on family and individual’s existing strengths using evidence-based strategies to equip them with new tools to navigate change and to enhance well-being.

 

Charmaine works from an eclectic framework drawing on focused psychological strategies such as Psychoeducation, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Relaxation strategies, Acceptance Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

Charmaine is approved by Medicare to provide Focused Psychological Strategies under Better Access to Mental Health.
