Workers Compensation and CTP Counselling
in the Sutherland Shire

If you’ve experienced an injury or psychological distress as a result of a workplace incident or motor vehicle accident, you may be eligible for counselling through Workers Compensation (WorkCover) or Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance.

At Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology in Menai, our psychologists and counsellors provide Workers Compensation and CTP counselling for children, adolescents and adults across the Sutherland Shire. Our clinicians are SIRA approved and experienced working within these frameworks. Once your claim is approved, sessions are billed directly to your insurer, with no out-of-pocket costs.

Common Reasons People Access Workers Compensation or CTP Counselling

We provide therapy for:

  • Psychological injury following a workplace incident or motor vehicle accident

  • Anxiety, panic, burnout or low mood

  • Adjusting to changes in physical or emotional functioning

  • Persistent pain and its psychological impact

  • Workplace stress or bullying

  • Post-traumatic stress symptoms

  • Loss of identity or difficulty returning to work

These experiences can overlap with areas such as trauma therapy, anxiety counselling, adjustment disorder, and support for chronic pain.

Understanding the impact of injury and recovery

Injury or psychological distress can affect many areas of life, including emotional health, confidence, relationships and capacity to work. Recovery often involves physical healing and adjusting to changes in identity, routine and future plans.

Counselling offers a structured space to process these experiences, understand emotional responses, and develop practical strategies for navigating recovery and return to work. This may include working through trauma, anxiety or adjustment disorder, as well as the psychological impact of persistent pain or changes in functioning.

Our psychologists and counsellors regularly support clients following workplace incidents or motor vehicle accidents, helping them make sense of what has happened and move forward at a pace that feels manageable.

Accessing counselling through Workers Compensation or CTP Insurance

To access counselling through Workers Compensation or CTP Insurance, you will need:

  • A referral and WorkCover or CTP certificate from your GP

  • The date of injury and details of the incident

  • Your insurer’s name, claim number, and case manager contact details

Our SIRA approved clinicians can assist with navigating the requirements and, where appropriate, liaise with your insurer as part of your care.
