Binge Eating Disorder Support
at Evolving Minds Counselling
Binge Eating Disorder is a serious and treatable condition. Unlike occasional overeating, it involves recurring episodes of feeling out of control around food, often followed by intense shame, guilt and emotional distress. At Evolving Minds Counselling, we provide compassionate, evidence based support to help you better understand your relationship with food.

For many, binge eating is a way to cope with overwhelming emotions. It may be triggered by stress, anxiety, boredom, loneliness or unresolved trauma. In these moments, food can become a form of self-soothing or emotional escape. At the same time, societal pressures and conflicting messages around food and body image can make this relationship even more complex.
Social media and cultural ideals often promote unrealistic standards, which can contribute to body dissatisfaction and low self-worth. While binge eating may bring temporary relief, it can also lead to emotional numbness, physical discomfort, and a cycle of distress and disconnection.

At Evolving Minds Counselling, we focus on addressing the underlying thoughts and behaviours that maintain binge eating. Our clinicians have completed specialised training in eating disorders, using a range of evidence based therapies.
