Binge Eating Disorder Support
at Evolving Minds Counselling
Research shows early intervention significantly improves recovery outcomes for eating disorders. Eating disorders are complex, although with the right treatment, recovery is possible. Our goal is to provide the tools and skills to help regain a sense of control and confidence over your life.

Understanding Binge Eating Disorder

Binge Eating Disorder involves recurrent episodes of eating large amounts of food, often accompanied by feelings of distress, shame, and a sense of being out of control. People may eat when they are not hungry, eat rapidly, or continue eating to the point of discomfort. Food may also be used as a way to cope with stress, anxiety, or boredom with binge episodes often followed by feelings of guilt or self-loathing.
People may withdraw socially, hide their eating habits, or experience significant emotional distress related to food and body image.

Signs to Watch Out For

Signs someone may be struggling with Binge Eating Disorder can include symptoms of depression or anxiety, a growing preoccupation with food, secrecy or hoarding behaviours, self-loathing, and in some cases, self-harm or thoughts of suicide.
