A Neuro-Affirming Approach to ADHD

at Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology

At Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology, we understand every brain works differently. ADHD, whether inattentive, hyperactive-impulsive, or combined, can affect attention, memory, planning, and emotional regulation. For those living with ADHD, and for those supporting them, navigating school, work, relationships, or routines can sometimes feel overwhelming.

Our clinicians provide neuro-affirming, evidence-based support for children, adolescents, and adults with ADHD. We understand ADHD isn’t just a set of challenges, it also comes with unique strengths. Therapy is focused on helping each person better understand their brain, build confidence, and find strategies that work with, not against, their natural ways of thinking.

We also support parents, carers and partners in developing practical tools and insights to enhance communication, reduce conflict, and strengthen connection.

Our team offers a range of evidence based therapeutic approaches, including:

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

  • Executive functioning support

  • Mindfulness-based strategies

  • Parent coaching and behavioural support

Our clinicians have specialised training in ADHD and provide both therapy and formal ADHD assessments for adults. We also assist with treatment planning and workplace recommendations as needed.

If you're seeking support for yourself or someone you care about, we’re here to help.
