Self-Esteem Support
at Evolving Minds Counselling
Self-esteem influences how we see ourselves, relate to others and manage life’s challenges. It affects our thoughts, emotions, behaviours and our ability to cope with stress. Low self-esteem can lead to anxiety, depression, self-doubt, and difficulty reaching personal, academic, or professional goals.

It is also linked with perfectionism, eating disorders, school refusal, personality disorders, challenging behaviour, and other mental health conditions.

Healthy self-esteem means having a balanced and realistic view of yourself. It enables you to recognise your strengths, acknowledging areas for growth and maintain a stable sense of self.

At Evolving Minds Counselling, we support children, adolescents, and adults struggling with self-esteem. Our experienced clinicians provide a safe, non-judgemental space to explore negative thinking, process difficult emotions, and develop a more confident compassionate sense of self.

We use a range of evidence based therapies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and strengths-based approaches. We also offer Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) skills and Radically Open DBT (RO-DBT) which is particularly helpful for those who struggle with overcontrol, perfectionism or difficulty expressing emotions.
