OCD Therapy and Support
at Evolving Minds Counselling
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is a chronic mental health condition that affects around 3% of the population. It involves unwanted, intrusive thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviours or mental acts (compulsions) aimed at easing distress or preventing feared outcomes. These patterns can be distressing and disruptive, often interfering with daily life, relationships, and emotional well-being.

Obsessions may include fears of contamination, intrusive violent or taboo thoughts, or a need for symmetry and order. In response, people may feel compelled to engage in rituals such as excessive cleaning, checking, counting or repeating certain actions. While these behaviours might bring short-term relief, they often reinforce anxiety over time.
Living with OCD can be exhausting and isolating. Many people feel ashamed of their symptoms, leading them to hide their struggles from others. At Evolving Minds, we provide compassionate, evidence-based support to help you break free from these patterns and regain a sense of control and calm.
Our clinicians use a range of evidence-based therapies tailored to your needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR and Mindfulness-Based approaches. These treatments aim to reduce the intensity of obsessions, minimise compulsions, and help respond to anxiety in more helpful ways.
If you’re ready to take the first step toward managing OCD, we’re here to support you.
