Binge Eating Disorder Therapy
at Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology
Binge Eating Disorder (BED) is a serious but often overlooked mental health condition that can affect people of all ages, genders and backgrounds. It involves recurring episodes of eating large amounts of food, often quickly and in secret, accompanied by a sense of loss of control. These episodes are frequently followed by intense feelings of guilt, shame and distress.
Many people living with BED describe eating when not physically hungry, continuing to eat past fullness, or using food as a way to cope with difficult emotions such as anxiety, sadness, boredom or unresolved trauma. While BED is not always driven by body image, it is often accompanied by low self-worth, internalised shame and difficulties with emotional regulation. These patterns can significantly impact daily functioning, relationships, physical and mental health.
At Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology, we provide compassionate, evidence-based treatment for adolescents and adults experiencing binge eating. Our experienced clinicians work collaboratively to understand the psychological and emotional drivers behind binge eating, develop greater self-awareness and support behavioural change in a safe, non-judgemental space.
We offer therapies specifically tailored to eating disorders, including:
