NDIS Counselling in Menai and the Sutherland Shire

NDIS counselling can be helpful when things feel harder to manage, particularly when routines, relationships, or emotions start to feel overwhelming or difficult to stay on top of.

For some people, this might involve building communication skills, feeling more confident in social situations, or managing day-to-day responsibilities more independently. For others, it’s about working through ongoing frustration, fatigue, or the emotional impact of living with a disability.

At Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology in Menai, our psychologists and counsellors provide therapy for NDIS participants across the Sutherland Shire. Sessions are available in person and via secure online appointments.

What NDIS counselling may focus on

NDIS counselling focuses on building skills, managing emotions and making day-to-day life feel more manageable.

Therapy is aligned with individual NDIS goals and may include:

  • Developing communication and relationship skills

  • Building emotional regulation and coping strategies

  • Managing routines and day-to-day demands

  • Increasing independence and confidence

  • Navigating social, family, or workplace environments

Therapy also provides space to explore how these experiences are affecting you over time, and what may be getting in the way of moving forward.

How NDIS counselling works

NDIS counselling is provided under Therapeutic Supports funding.

Depending on your plan, sessions may be self-managed or plan-managed.

Therapy is guided by your NDIS goals and what is most relevant for you at the time. This means sessions are flexible and can focus on what is coming up in your day-to-day life, as well as longer-term goals.

We can also assist with understanding how therapy fits within your plan and what is required to begin.
