Anger Management

at Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology

Anger is a core human emotion that can help us identify when our boundaries are crossed or our needs are unmet. When expressed constructively, it can support assertiveness and emotional clarity. When anger becomes overwhelming or difficult to manage, it can negatively affect relationships, contribute to workplace or school challenges, and lead to physical health issues.

At Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology, we provide evidence-based support for children, adolescents, and adults finding it difficult to manage their emotions.

Our clinicians work with a wide range of presentations, including challenging behaviour in children and adolescents, emotional outbursts, relationship conflict, and patterns of aggression or withdrawal.

We also support people affected by anger in the context of domestic and family violence, offering a safe, trauma-informed space to process experiences and rebuild emotional safety. For clients seeking to build healthier communication skills, therapy can include assertiveness training, helping you express your thoughts, needs and boundaries respectfully and effectively.

Therapy may focus on developing insight into emotional triggers, improving frustration tolerance, and learning new ways to respond to stress. We draw on a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-based approaches.

Whether you're dealing with persistent frustration, conflict at home or work, or difficulties regulating emotions, therapy can support you to feel more in control, enhance relationships, and promote long-term emotional wellbeing.

Sessions are available in-person at our Menai practice in the Sutherland Shire or online.
