Meet Christina Gilto
Christina Gilto is a registered psychologist at Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology, supporting adults across trauma, anxiety, and women’s mental health. She has a particular interest in menopause and midlife transitions and works with clients from Menai, the Sutherland Shire, and greater Sydney.
Christina is committed to providing ethical, evidence-based psychological care and works primarily within a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) framework, informed by trauma-aware practice. She understands that trauma, anxiety, and hormonal changes often intersect, influencing mood, sleep, confidence, relationships, identity, and day-to-day functioning.
Christina provides a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental therapeutic space at Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology in Menai, where clients are supported to explore their experiences at a pace that feels manageable and supportive. Her approach is collaborative and structured, supporting clients to feel actively involved in therapy while building clarity, confidence, and practical skills.
Using CBT-based approaches, Christina works with clients to identify and shift unhelpful thinking patterns, core beliefs, and behavioural responses that may be contributing to ongoing distress. Therapy may include emotional regulation strategies, behavioural activation, graded exposure, and practical problem-solving.
Christina has a particular interest in women’s mental health, including menopause, midlife transitions, and perinatal mental health. She supports women experiencing postpartum depression, anxiety, mood changes, disrupted sleep, reduced confidence, and the emotional impact of significant life transitions. Informed by her work with the Australian Menopause Society, Christina integrates CBT strategies with psychoeducation to support women across different stages of life.
Alongside this work, Christina is accredited with WorkCover and has experience supporting Australian service workers and those affected by workplace stress, psychological injury, trauma, and complex occupational demands.
Christina honours the strength it takes to seek psychological support and is committed to walking alongside clients with empathy, professionalism, and evidence-based care.
