Support for Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

at Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology

At Evolving Minds Counselling and Psychology, we offer compassionate, evidence-based therapy for Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD), supporting children, adolescents, adults and older adults.

GAD is a common anxiety condition characterised by excessive and persistent worry about everyday situations, often without a clear or specific cause. This ongoing worry can feel difficult to manage and may interfere with daily functioning, relationships, sleep, and overall wellbeing.

Symptoms of GAD can vary by age and life stage although often include muscle tension, irritability, headaches, restlessness, difficulty concentrating, nausea, fatigue and disrupted sleep. Over time, unmanaged anxiety can contribute to low mood, avoidance behaviours, and challenges at school, work, or in social settings.

Our experienced clinicians are trained in a range of evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Mindfulness-Based strategies. Treatment is focused on helping you understand the cause of your anxiety and the development of effective coping skills.

Therapy for generalised anxiety disorder is available at our Menai practice in the Sutherland Shire or online.
