Challenging Behaviour

"Children who need the most love will ask for it in the most unloving ways - unknown"

Challenging behaviour in children and adolescents present in a number of different ways and often negatively impact interactions with family members, schools and peers.  Often these behaviours are misunderstood and mislabelled, with children seen as naughty, out of control or destructive, thus perpetuating feelings of inadequacy, low self-worth and poor self-esteem.

A large majority of children who present with challenging behaviours often come with a diagnosis of:

  • Anxiety

  • ADHD

  • Oppositional Defiance Disorder

  • Trauma

  • Autism

Evolving Minds takes an integrative approach working with families and schools to help children and adolescents understand their diagnosis, recognise their feelings and put healthy coping strategies in place.

We do so by implementing a range of child-friendly techniques including Play Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance  and Committment Therapy and Mindfulness.

If you feel your child or adolescent would benefit from therapy please call us to make an appointment on 02 8519 4197 or book online.
